WINTER 2020

2020 has been a year for the history books. It's been a challenging year to say the least. There's been change and pain, sadness, loss, joy, new beginnings and more changes. There has been Evil and there has been Grace. I have seen the hand of God in this year, all the way through. I've found peace in the doors that have been opened that we weren't ready for, and I have found comfort from Him in the ones He has closed. Nothing bad happens that isn't allowed to happen for an eventual greater good.

The days have become shorter and shorter, darker and colder. The winter solstice is next week and there was snow in the mountains today. The dreary overcast skies bring gloom to some and coziness and gentleness to others, depending on how you wish to experience it.

I find myself becoming like the gardens that are finally all tucked away for the winter season, hybernating under layers and layers of leaves and mulch, safe and warm, resting...healing...relaxing in peaceful slumber. There is tranquility and stillness here, in the quiet and the solitude of winter.

Like the gardens, I will wait for a new rebirth in the spring when the warm sunshine beckons me out and calls me to come to the surface and stretch; to come alive and to bloom all over again.
