THE MOTHER OF ALL VOCATIONS

Updated: Feb 24, 2022

‎"To build a home of ideals means a life of sacrifice. It means a lot of work, and it's never going to be over. These ideals don't come easily to anyone; they come through battle. It's an illusion to think that building a place of beauty ever happens naturally to anyone; it happens little by little ... through hard work ... when we cultivate our souls, our kids will have something to draw from .. the house with the life of God isn't a perfect house, it's a redeemed house! It's not a home without sin, or without messes or without spilled milk, but we redeem one more moment, in the joy of living with Him, and that moment becomes a memory, an unspoken message that lasts for life... " Mission of Motherhood

Some of us have been blessed with Mothers who knew and planned their vocation ahead of time

or simply figured it out along the way.

For those who made the sacrifice and never abandoned their post (vocation)

and those who kept the home fires burning and the light always on,

even an honest 'salute' to honor them seems insignificant

to a life lived in service, sacrifice and Love with a capital L.

Maybe a more appropriate way to show appreciation for those who gave their life

in service and dedication to those they loved is to fully embrace the examples they set before us,

to the best of our abilities, and to share our passion for the vocation of homemaking and motherhood with those who had no such example.

This could be quite a challenge. But then, isn't life? And for what greater cause, anyway?
