We just THOUGHT we had ourselves a miniature Jersey heifer. Zetta Rose turned out to be a mid-size, maybe even a standard size Jersey. Never mind that, we will adjust our farm plans to accommodate both. After several months of diligent searching, we finally found her a companion. A beautiful little full-blood, almost mini- Jersey, light colored heifer. Meet Belle Starr. She came with her original name and she will keep it.
Belle has been here less than 2 weeks and she's already made herself quite at home. She and Zetta bonded immediately and have been inseparable ever since. She loves the goats and is quite comfortable around Biscuit our guardian dog, who also has taken her under her care.
I don't know what the future brings with these two little girls, but we are hoping for more little heifers to come when they are of age to reproduce. A good small Jersey will make the perfect family cow with plenty of milk and cream for butter, cheese and ice cream! I'll be happy when they are in milk!
We've been blessed once again!
God is good and He answers prayers!
