TEA PARTIES AND GIRL CRUSHES

Since we are now sporting a new sundeck complete with French patio doors out back, our little five-year old granddaughter thought it was high time for the outdoor tea party we've been talking about for some time now. She was here last week for an over-nighter. It's actually called a sleep-over and don't try to contest the point. And when you "hang out" with little girls (such as our two little granddaughters, ages 4 and 5) you feel they're really almost teenagers with their big talk, little attitudes and the things they already know! You see them as they are, little bitty bundles of energy who are beautiful inside and out, funny and witty, and then you realize you have what is now called a "girl crush". Whatever it is, I developed one this past weekend (again). What's a Grandmother to do!

We were in town most of that afternoon, shopping and running errands, and stopping to visit

her Great-grandmother for bit.

All the while, she kept asking if we were going to get home in time to make the chocolate chip cookies and have a tea party before dark.

Well, of course we would - I know what priorities are in a five-year old mind.

(But we barely got it done before farm chores and dark-thirty!)

Did I mention a "girl crush" on this one?

Nothing keeps us young and laughing like the little people do!
