MEMORIES FOR TOMORROW

She's 95 and holding. Some days are good, some days are a bear.

Dementia leaves nothing for the fainthearted and takes it's toll on everyone.

But, mostly the victim.

Every day is a challenge.

And yet every day holds it's share of blessings.

They are fewer and harder to find and even harder to hold on to.

Today was a good day.

A trip to the Chapel. A drive-through coffee stop.

And how she love her iced mocha frappe down to the last drop.

Then a visit to the farm and gardens and a faintly fimiliar place.

She doesn't remember the names of the plants and flowers any more.

But she remembers the names of every single vivid color.

She soaks it all in with gusto.

A familiar face for both of them!

The farm is familiar to her. She talkes to the animals.

She "has ducks just like these", she says.

Today she is completely at peace and marvels at the beauty of nature and each of the animals!

Even a short excursion is exhausting, so a little nap before lunch.

And then it's time to say goodbye and head back to her home.

She is ok with that.

And grateful she was here.

And we'll always have the memories.

But, if we don't, pictures tell the story.
