Ohmygosh. If we could just keep them tiny and innocent and real!
They have no hate, no malice, no meanness until they are taught it.
Our four year old granddaughter was gathering eggs the other day while grandson and I were watering and feeding the ducks and chickens. Out of the corner of my eye I could see she dropped one and outloud, I overheard her say, "Oh, I have to pray for this egg."
Before I could say a thing, as if she were even listening to me, she began with the sign of faith (the cross) "In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Bless us, O Lord, and these Thy gifts which we are about to receive from Thy bounty, through Christ Our Lord. Amen"
It didn't matter that it was the grace before meals that she's been taught.
I could see that she was confident that all would be well!
