A GENTEEL TIME

As I was driving down a back country road on the way to my Mother's house the other day, I saw leaves of many colors falling gently in the breeze, even before the trees themselves had turned color. It seemed like just overnight FALL had arrived - the FALL I had been waiting for with great anticipation. I do love FALL.

It seemed the leaves were waving good-by to summer and so was I.

Today, two days later, the weather is beautiful after a nice rain during the night, and the air is crisp and cool. The windows are all open and a fresh breeze fills the house with Autumn air. I pulled some weeds from the garden without a sweat. I picked some ripe and ready Tobasco peppers from the garden, and trimmed a rose bush that had gotten out of hand. I'm ready for this season and ready to slow down, just as Mother Nature does this time of year. I think it is a Genteel time of year. I'm grateful for FALL for that reason, and for all the festive colors.

I hope you are, too!
