Today is Memorial Day and we go camping, fishing, shopping, swimming, boating and picnicing because we can. We have the privilege to do these things because so many others gave their lives for our freedom to choose to do so.

Lest we forget their service and sacrifice, today is set aside to remember and honor these men and women in a tradition that dates back even before the Civil War, at that time called Decoration Day.
May we take a moment to ponder and be grateful.
