It was snowing this morning. I’m not surprised. We live in Arkansas and anything can happen at any time. I remember when I was 17 and working a part time job in a beautiful old remodeled Victorian house made into a modern gift shop and specializing in elegant antiques and replicas of antiques. It was called The Century House Gift Shop. It had huge windows and glass doors in the front. I stood there often.
On one particular day during my working hours, it began to snow. On this same day as I stood staring out at the amazing weather patterns, there had also been sunshine, rain, sleet and hail. I have no idea if we were ever under a tornado watch at the same time, but now that I have lived here an additional 40 years, I wouldn’t be surprised! Yes, I did manage to wait on a few customers during my weather watching! It was my first real experience, or at least adult experience, of weather patterns changing so quickly and drastically in just a few short hours.
So, it is snowing today. It’s a light, gentle and beautiful snow that won’t accumulate. Last week we had days in the 70’s and next week the same is predicted. But for yesterday and today, the wind is briskly cold, and tonight we have a freeze warning.
Oh, the beautiful buds on trees, bushes and vegetation! I’ll bring in a few plants and cover the lettuce and greens garden. The rest is up to God, and I refuse to meddle in His weather business.
...Even though it is April and I was in the mood for Spring and Summer.
