The brew is ready. After 8 weeks in a half gallon container, in a dark cabinet and being shaken up every couple of days, the ingredients were ready to be poured into individual jars and labeled.
It’s a shame that almost a half-gallon of ingredients only yields about 20 ounces of remedy. But, given the tiny amount used each time, this should still go a long way for those needing a quick and powerful remedy at the onset of cold or flu symptoms. This is, after all, a tincture, not a syrup. If this doesn’t give the cure, you better head for the Doctor and find out what you have.
A lot of money and effort goes into a good concoction, but if it does its job in the remedy and cure department, it is definitely worth the time and effort. We already know it works, as it has for the last several years and tested on many family members. It’s the first thing we go to at the onset of a cold, even a sniffle and believe this to have worked almost every single time, keeping away something much worse.
Here is the list of ingredients, which you will use according to the size jar you choose, even as small as a pint size.
Alcohol (Brandy and Vodka), Dried Elderberries and Rosehips, Red Raspberry, Stinging Nettle, Black Tea and Thyme leaves, Anise, Echinacea, Burdock Root, Ground Cinnamon and Cloves, Fresh Ginger root, Fresh crushed Garlic
Fill any size jar 1/3 of the way up with all the dry ingredients *** in whatever amount you prefer. The main ingredients in mine are the Elderberries and Rosehips. From there, use whatever you have on hand, even if you don’t have all these listed ingredients. Fill the jar the rest of the way up with Brandy, Vodka or Rum. Put the lid on, store in a dark place like a pantry or cupboard and shake every couple of days for 6 to 8 weeks. Strain the liquid and ingredients through a sieve, or at least a colander with cheesecloth or paper towel.
