EMBRACING AUGUST?

It’s August. So what do we do with August? It’s my least favorite month of the year. August is one of those months you wish would pass rather quickly, especially here in the South in the dreaded heat and humidity. It’s hard to remain optomistic and know that fall is just around the corner. However, there is something to be said about “today being a gift and that’s why we call it the present”.

Living in the present, meaning the now, meaning in the moment, means not to look back on yesterday with sadness or regret, and not to spend too much time anticipating the future and what you intend to do with it. It means embracing the now.

This month there will be days that come our way bringing sunshine and showers, garden weeds and lovely flowers, sad days and glad days, days that bring pain and chaos or beauty and success. The nice thing about it is that we all have the option to choose how we want to embrace each of these days and live in the moment. And no one else can make that choice for us.

I for one have decided to, in modern terms, kick some booty and embrace each day with gusto!

And please remind me of all that on my bad days … please….
