In our own little homes, among our own little family, this environment is where we first experience (or should have our first experience) of the real presence of God.
This is our “own little Jerusalem” as Mother Theresa referred to it, our “first little church”.
It is because of this that our role as “Mother” is so important. We are God’s replacement so to speak, for the little ones, for our whole families. Mothers are His angels with skin on.
And so we should undertake the work of our hands with diligence, pride and most of all love. In doing so, it doesn’t take that much insight or common sense to realize that we should avoid being part of the things that cause us or our children to be less than God intended us to be and not live out our full potential, but it does take a tremendous amount of courage and self-discipline to live out these things we know to be true and to be a living example and model for our children and others.
As wives, mothers and homemakers, we must strive constantly to avoid those things that will potentially harm or destroy our future generations and ourselves. While the saying goes that “everything in moderation” is ok, it is not necessarily so, because moderation does not seem to be working. Look at the world. You be the judge. We as wives, mothers, and homemakers must fiercely watch over, guide, protect and defend our little churches, our families, and our homes!
"She looketh well to the ways of her household…"
