Is winter really over already? I love spring, but I love winter also, with the quiet, peaceful evenings spent all warm and cozy in our home. The Husband and I started reading the Bible (beginning at the very beginning) earlier this season and while we have finally gotten past Genesis, we are still a long way from home (the last book of the Bible). The Husband says "we’ll have to be around for a long, long time because it’s going to take a long, long time to read it front to back". I’m ok with that. I hope the kids are.
So spring is here and the days are getting longer and longer and the nights shorter. That also means evenings can get a little busier with more daylight, and we find ourselves trying to slow down even though we could still be "working outside”. We like to eat dinner at 6pm and then settle in with evening prayers and now, reading the Good Book. It’s kind of hard to want to do that when the sun’s still shinning. We’ll adjust.
All in all, I have to say this is really a wonderful part of married life together, when we get to relax and enjoy our own company, re-discover things about each other and have nice long talks during and after dinner - solving all the worlds problems but never our own, of course, and just enjoying our cozy evenings together. It is a blessing that comes to those who have weathered the storms of life together and feel closer than ever. I wish this for every young married couple to look forward to!
God is good, always!
